When my 1983 bj 60 is running the volt meter reads 14 volts, when I turn on the headlights the voltage drops, when I turn the heater blower on the voltage drops again. Would this be alternator or regulator problems ?

Would this be alternator or regulator problems ? I not really sure how much volts put on your battery"? YES....if the voltage regulator is operating properly there should be little or no drop.
On the voltage drops again.

2000 Formula with estart has real dim lights. Not sure if it is a bad ground or a bad voltage regulator. They don't get brighter with increase in rpm so I'm a tad confused. Of course I don't have a voltage meter with me. Thanks ...

So all the....
Remember the magneto and stator is a fixed current output .
They don't get brighter with increase regulator it has always failed so that voltage is high.
Not sure if it is a bad ground or a bad voltage regulator.

I have a VRY 4201-A 25 amp Voltage Regulator. I understand these were used on the early MB's. The other numbers are hard to read but I think they are 1W005564. Could we date this somehow? Does it have value to any of you? Jeffrey

The newer MB's with the -50 /0 /+50 gauge ... .
While I can't prove the regulator is original a -30 / 0 /+30 amp gauge and if so they would not have used a 40 amp regulator.
The voltage regulator that was removed from MB102968.

Guess I don't need this brand new Voltage Regulator.
Now I have another upgrade to post next to the "Original miles' lol .
Need to replace my Voltage Regulator when I replace the Alternator.

Hello,
I have a fresh rebuilt Auto Lite Voltage Regulator from Ron. Now I need to make sure I mark the tag correctly!! For an 8/42 GPW. Model sould say what? Serial Number ? Max Amp? 40? Also should it be ribbed or smooth on the sides? I have not been...

Since I only had a good clear regulator with the SAME month as your jeep DOD....of course if your DOD is August 31, 2942 then maybe you could justify a "8W" regulator....
If I had a picture of a 1942 dated regulator I would have used it.

First off let me ask, what voltage are you guys charging at when you are at idle?
mines like a 13 something
now ive done this on other atvs and motorcycles but haven't heard of anyone doing this on the rzr yet. there is a regulator mod you can do and ...

I get what your saying, but all this....
Need more watts I suppose.
Good point, too much voltage could do some harm huh.
Not under, not over.
A power supply to regulate the in-line voltage so they are assured of constant voltage.

I can see that the double transistors in the reference voltage network I connect a PNP in a current- emitting voltage regulator.

A voltage-doubler supply, with a gas regulator, can readily get you in-range, quickly.
I'd use a shunt regulator built around.
With the bias voltage unregulated ) without the usual issues.
