I'm keeping the toilet and sink/sink cabinet. I need a new tub. Should I gut the whole thing. should I try to chip off...

Any chance to steal a few square feet from an adjoining room?
What about an upstairs laundry room... .
In that vein...
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Unless you're prepared to spend the $10,000 or so that a down to the studs and joists rebuild is worth.. .

The general thought is that there is no way to *fix* the shower walls...we have to rip it out and start over .
The shower walls are old tile...the grout is flaking off, there are cracks, and it is generally hideous .

Handy total beginner is removing existing bath/shower combo (skirted tub) and existing drywall.
I want to use ditra and tile it. What do I use to cover studs (product the ditra will be applied onto)?
Should I use cement board? Doesn't seem to make sense...

One or more of the circuits you're going to be abandoning is connected to another room of the house that isn't being remodeled?
Hope like hell that the room being remodeled is on the end of the circuit instead of the beginning?

I'm looking for a helper with remodeling experience. Most of my projects are kitchen, bath, and bedroom remodels. I will occasionally build a deck, but exterior projects are less than 10% of my work.
If anyone is interested in discussing employment, please...

Never heard of them---what level of quality are you looking for?
Haas makes a very good cabinet at a fair price--the finishes are way above average--- I just googled it---I am not familiar with any of the lines of cabinets that they carry--
Interestingly... .
