My son (7) has suspected mito but nothing confirmed. We are hoping to get further answers in about six weeks at an upcoming appointment, but no idea how that will go. In the past several weeks to couple of months he has had a pretty significant decrease...

Stairway and temporary wiring. Is temporary wiring ever allowed (routed) thru a stairway?

Only the systems required for the stairway are allowed in the stairway the door way because fire codes....
If it is an occupied building and it is an egress stairway I would not run anything in it.

Yes, the wooden door down the basement stairway is always kept CLOSE.
The basement ceiling is unfinished currently would be a better investment IMO .
