Hard to read, both due to subject matter and the writing style. Depressing and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this book to a friend.

This book was excellent! I hated to see it end. It really opened my eyes more to the plight of children and how resilient they really are. God be with the children on the continent.

The short stories kind of just dropped off, to the point that I didn't realize that it was the end of one story when a new story started. It was also hard to read because it was written in the dialect of the characters, and sometimes included thier language...
