What's the difference between a roast beef and a bottom round roast? i know they come from the leg of the cow, but what is the difference as far as taste and texture (if that is the right word), and overall quality of the meat?

Easier yet, research "beef roast cuts" and learn something....
Don't take my word for it, go ask the butcher for a "roast beef".
Bottom round is a specific cut.
Roast beef" is a generic term for a large cut of beef cooked in dry heat.

formally AoifC I prefer rib myself as it's usually a little juicier due to the marbling... .
I picked Rib because it is always more tender than the sirloin .

So... pretty much everyone I've mentioned it to would absolutely love a hog roast at the iseries. We need one. The hog roast IS the hero the iseries needs.
Attached is a poll, which I believe will be self explanatory.
So, Hog roast?

When I was in, we had this often and in many forms. Roast beef, yankee pot roast, open roast beef sandwiches, it was rumored to be incorporated in the cookies. What meals did you seem to get in abundance?

I called it roast had this often and in many forms.
I thought the quality of the food was OK, but we just had roast beef all the time and meat sauce seemed to be the two choices that were served more often than not.
Was an optimist.
