Always thought the best way to get an authentic looking rope ,would be braid it yourself out-strand cotton cloths line rope is the closes to the original, correct me if I'm wrong.

Wakeboard Ropes/Ski Ropes/Kneeboarding Ropes Looking at ropes for all 3. Noticed there are all sorts and different kinds of ropes. Do I need to get different ropes for each activity? Is there one single rope that will work for all 3? I have never Wakeboarded...

I think you can use a ski rope for sking and tubing....
We have one rope for Tubing and Sking but we are getting into wake boarding this summer.

Bought a couple of pcs of rope at at hardware / wholesale place . looks just like static rope
until you push the sheath back then you see the core is loose fibers ( one looks like blue paper towel twisted together.
they have this rope in many sizes and...

When you go....
You can use a ski rope for starting% with Enygma, well said.
You also don't want a really foamy handle as it'll likely just get ripped to shreds .
For wakeboarding you really want a non stretch rope.
Depends on the rope.

The rope data structure values (think 100+ MB of xml....
They work differently, so they are more suited for different purposes .
There's situations where the Rope data structure is more efficient than a string builder.

Jump Rope question?? Backward jump roping? Ok so my deal is that whenever I try normally jump roping, I can only do about 6 jumps before screwing up. But when I jump rope BACKWARDS, I can go for 3 mins tops. Is that weird? :/

Copy-on-write (I think this comes for free in nearly all std::string implementations... .
It will do the string interning, but I don't believe it does copy-on-write .
If most of your strings are immutable, the Boost Flyweight library might suit your needs .

Would anybody be able to help me find out how old a rope is? I was recently given an Edelrid rope that appears to be quite old given that the labels are a faded yellow colour!
The rope is a full strength rope and seems to be in perfect condition, no scuffs...
