While RPG does have the TRUNCNBR compile option.
The best solution I can suggest would be to create a procedure that does the math for you and handles the overflow .
RPG won't let you do that.

You have to create some D-specs CONST D Parm3 400A CONST Your RPG....
Nowaday's, RPG can interface directly with Java.
Given from within RPG.
Since the program is running on a remote server, you can't call it directly from RPG.

If you understand RPG's and you have a fully formed idea of what you want to do.
Programming an RPG game isn't any different than programming any other game.
Advanced libraries, toolkits, etc.

I think a package of typical fantasy monsters using standees or even tokens / tiles would be a great product .

I can't speak for ARCAD or ALDON..
MKS Implementer is another solution I've used and it's decent .
I prefer Turnover.
Haven't worked with ARCAD.
Aldon is ok.
