Some one suggested this name to me and it has an appeal. No connections for Savannah for us but the name works and my mother would be ecstatic!

I'd stick with Tess.
It is a pretty sounding name though, don't get me wrong .

I will have 7 days in the south. Would like to see both Charleston and Savannah (renting a car to try to see both?). Any suggestions on how many days to spend in each city, or will I be too rushed?

The general consensus is usually 2 days in Savannah and 4-5 in Charleston.
There is tons more to see and do in the Charleston area, as it is a popular question .
And then do a day trip to Savannah .
