A lot of the wisdom I have come across on this forum says that the standard for Stanley products has been on the decline since the 60's.
Of Stanley tools, but now its all crap.

HI,
I was browsing in a local discount tool store when I noticed some Stanley planes on the shelf.
The prices were great - a no 4 for $35.98 and a no. 5 for $45.98.
A closer inspection showed pretty shoddy quality. The blades have no makers mark stamped...

Hey!!
Kyle Stanley was about to take a short putt on the 11th in the 3rd round but stepped on line line clearing away something. I think he broke Rule 16-1:
"The line of putt must not be touched "

Well a couple of things. The length/size of the saw has no bearing on which mitre box models you guys have. Disston sold them in various lengths and also depths of the blade. These were supplied to Stanley to sell with the boxes. All the Disston No.4'...

It is a later model than yours with telescoping saw guides.
I've got a Stanley 2246A, and I can't find any info on it at all.
It seems to match the mitre box very well.

Not quite finished but here are some images of the Stanley Mitre box I have been working on .
I think it is a model 244 ,but I am not sure as it has no label like the later models of that era .
The patent dates are 1904 as cast on the quadrant.
