Counter-example: x = 2, y = 2; ⎣x⎦ = 2, ⎡y⎤ = 2, ⎡xy⎤ = 4 .
Consider x = 2.4, y = 2.4, but ∃x ∃y ⎣x⎦.⎡y⎤ ≥ ⎣xy⎦ isn't a very strong statement .
Counter-example: x = 2.9, y = 2.9; ⎣x⎦ = 2; ⎡y⎤ = 3; ⎣xy⎦ = 8 .
