Hi,
I set my phone to use wi-fi and disabled data in the Tools widget.
Also in settings/wireless&network settings wi-fi is ticked and under mobile networks data is disabled and network mode is set to wcdma only.
I know it is using Wi-Fi as when I turn...

Way to get proper access would be to set up directional antennae and segregate portions of the room the base of bandwidth and access points it doesn't much matter how you set it up, it's just not going their target audience....

My brother's ally is fine though I then deleted (forget) network, let it scan for Wi-Fi and mines wouldn't show up.

That's a very weird set up why haven't you just connected the wifi router to the ISP modem then plug the wireless router into that and set up bridging as suggested here
