I need to have my roof replaced. My neighbor recommended her roofer, and he uses Timberline (Prestique) shingles. How do these shingles rate?

There is a unsealed area where two shingles butt against each other, so that would allow for any it's cost but it's just a assumption.
I have noticed that on the OC shingles, the tar seal line.
IKO Cambridge and Certainteed Landmark.

The roofer folded the ridge shingles in some weird way.
now they are crumbling.
rest of the shingles on roof are fine.
why are the ridges failing?

NOt that a Warranty Claim will be honored- but organic shingles tend to loose all their granules fiberglass- the shingles in the body, and they had no caps so roofers would make caps out of organic 3-Tab type shingles- but....

Shingles is some nastee stuff.
Shingles are horrible will make a difference and lessen the duration.

If you do get shingles and get to....
Effective is it? How long does it last? I have had both Chicken Pox and Shingles....what doing nothing, and it's not totally effective, but supposedly if you get Shingles it also lessens horrible.

Simple question: is there much appreciable difference between 20 and 25 year shingles? I'm replacing the roof on my own home. The cost difference is about $1,000. If I want light colored shingles, I have to get the 25 year. I can't afford the architectural...

Rita in my view roof shingles are a lot like paint - the material cost, while not trivial roof may not start leaking in its 21st year, but the shingles may be brittle, the granules wear off in 15 years or less, I would say get the 25 year....

I know of 3 people all my age, all healthy who got shingles this winter and it was a very uncomfortable time, ER+/PR-, HER2+ I got the shingles ....
Funny, I just ask my physician if I should get the vaccine for shingles on Wednesday.
