KYB shocks? Cheap made shocks? Are KYB shocks not that good? ALso who make the original shock on the Passat. I want to possibly replace with something comparable to original shock, smooth comfortable ride.

That a new shock is always going to be stiffer than when its broken in and any noticed stiffness could just be due to new vs old shock.

Is it just me being useless at setting them up or are air shocks way shitter than metal spring shocks?

Of the shock (2 big nuts) and lower the shock to create some space for your hands when trying to remount had to lower the shock if you keep the clip on the cup.
