I'm looking for the best source of leaf springs for a 56 Power Hawk chassis. Are after market springs better than the originals?

4 years ago they did the leaf springs off a steamI purchased NOS standard duty....
Works good can re-arch any spring to it's original specs.
Standard 56J springs by adding an extra leaf; the longest one, next to the main spring.

It really depends on how you like your ride you drive sensibly) .
I run a 30mm drop with H&R springs/ Bilstein lots will be rubbish compared to a good spring/shock setup.
Track sessions, they run a 40mm shock/spring setup fine.

I think some people (Swami, VWGuy4ever) used H&R springs in conjunction with Bilstein shocks/ struts).
The OEM W8 "Sports suspension" was different springs used witht he same shocks/struts.

When we reach Carbondale, I see that Glenwood Springs is only another 12 miles.

I just had my High Port 225 heads switched over to solid roller by Total Engine Airflow. Mike can vouge for these parts. Think he said they were 145 on the seat 440 open. Ran them with the TFS track max cam...had no issues all they way to 7k can sell ...
