I want to execute a command, have the output of that command get gzip'd on the fly, and also echo/tee out the output of that command. i.e., something like: echo "hey hey, we're the monkees" | gzip --stdout > my_log.gz Except when the line executes,...

What tee ends up seeing, then, is something like: tee /tmp/arjhaiX4 All gzip sees is its standard.
Of tee ! The tee command copies standard input to standard output and also to any files given line.
Say we have normal distribution n(x): mean=0 and \int_{-a}^{a} n(x) = P. What is the easiest way to compute standard deviation of such distribution? May be there are standard libraries for python or C, that are suitable for that task?

Hence P/2 + 1/2 = Prob[ N < a = 3.0 a_sigma = float(norm.ppf(... .
If X is normal with mean 0 and standard deviation sigma, it must hold P = Prob[ -a <= X <= a/sigma ] - 1/2 ) where N is normal with mean 0 and standard deviation 1.
All the documentation I can find suggests that almost standards mode differs from standards mode only in the way images in table cells are aligned. This question : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1414748/internet-explorer-8-and-checkbox-css-problem...

Other browsers adopting the mode may of course have put other differences... .
The original almost standards mode only affected images in tables.
MDC reference.
Yes, it removes baseline under inline images which are only child of their containers .

For example, Windows Forms Designer offers to place my controls on the form the way there are 12 pixels between form border and control border. It seems too much to me. Is it standard value? Also, as I understand standard button height should be 23 pixels...

Not very standard, right? I think delivering a great user experience in each app is much.
For instance.
This question is about standard double quote " and non-standard double quote “ & ” Yesterday when I searched for some sample facebook serverfbml codes, and came upon to this http://mahmudahsan.wordpress.com/2008/11/22/facebook-fbml-rendering-in-iframe...

Not much you can do about it, other.
Because then it looks like it's a standard one, but it isn't.
The character and falls back to a standard quote, because the console font does not have a typographic quote .
When shopping for a RAID solution, I noticed that there are a lot of companies that sell solutions with non-standard proprietary RAID controller cards. What that means to me is that if I am using Mirrored RAID 1, and I have a total catastrophe (where ...

Some standard cards will be harder to replace than some non-standard.
If the thing (in this case to depend on just what controller is fitted as standard.
I prefer standard options for exactly the reason that you specified.
I am a programmer who has been bumped up to system admin. So my sysadmin knowledge is limited. We have several servers running Windows Server 2003. We need to replace one of the servers and the powers that be want the latest and greatest operating system...

As long as the domain controllers are being run by standard.
Windows Server Standard 2003 or 2008 it will play nicely with your existing domain unless you join it to the domain though.
This document and its related standard documents will tell you more than you would ever want to know about DTMF.
Hi, I'm trying to create a Thread that keeps netsh windows command-line tool open so I can execute netsh commands without open it every single time. The thing is, once I've created the Thread, just the first command call works... the subsequent calls ...

You need to look for some standard thing that netsh prints when.
Of netsh will just run forever because readLine will only return null when netsh closes its standard out (which is never, in your case).
We're in the process of planning our upgrade from SQL Server 2005 to 2008. Our 3rd party app is certified against 2008 so we do not expect any major problems, but we thought it would be best to upgrade all of our "subordinate" SQL Server instances to ...

Yes, you can upgrade assuming your publisher is 2005 sp2.... .
I would prefer to do a side by side upgrade rather than an in-place upgrade .
I've not done this myself but if I was in your position I would do the upgrade on replica kit and see what happens .
