Z77 is dual channel so it takes 2 sticks for best results as opposed to the OP should have 4.
The choice of 2 vs 4 sticks installed? (In the event that more than 8GB isd recommended, I mean.) any on Z77.

I have 8 slots for ram on my motherboard. They are in pairs to take advantage of dual channel memory. Right now, I have 2 1GB sticks of ram, and I'd like to add 2 2GB sticks of ram for a total of 6GB. Is mixing the different sizes of ram going to cause...

Yes you can, but personally, I wouldn't.
You'll probably get better performance from the two 2gb sticks in there alone than adding in the other two 1gb sticks with the two 2gb sticks.

Assuming a Core i7 with a x58 chipset (IOW, triple-channel is supported)... I'm trying to decide if I need to buy triple channel memory kits. The MB has 6 slots, and I will populate them all. So I've got two options:

If I was you, just buy whatever it takes to get the amount the memory as individual sticks....
Such as 10 sticks, you could get three or four different designs - it was a nightmare as dual channel (back, you usually do get the same sticks.

You can buy the pop sticks online or at a cake decorating shop.
OK for adults but watch small children.
I'm pretty sure it would do the same as a lollipop stick Satay bamboo sticks are splintery and have a sharp point.

Is this correct?
Yes, the extra memory will be physically present, but not... .
The rest would just be unsused.
Is there any problems with having 8 GB ram in a 32 bit Windows Vista? As i understand it, i would simply only be able to utiluse ~3,2 GB of them .

For the most part, the reason people tape sticks is to protect the upper area of the stick down, some don't, whatever.
