I know I have read that stress can pose a real issue with weight loss no matter what lifestyle you choose... Well that is the one thing I am most afraid of this time around and not that I will eat anything high-carb but that it will slow my weight loss...

I think you should avoid any work including stress testing on production machines unless you know on a weeker machine so I'd say stress test and optimize on your development system and you'll know is "performance regression" testing.
