Our old tape drives have failed and we not using tapes for backup anymore. We still have a stack of DLT tapes with backups which may contain sensitive information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, etc.

You won't like the quality, best to buy the stuff again on DVD .
Then when you get it you copy the stuff on the VHS and put it on the DVD disc, as long as you are not pirating .
You have to have a piece of equipment in order to do it .
