Only a few locals seem to play tennis.
Some private clubs for well-to-do (read rich) locals have of the major hotels have tennis courts and there is a tennis club (about 5 blocks east of the Royal Villas kind of short term membership....

Table Tennis helps with Tennis
Does anyone here believe that playing Tennis or being good at tennis gives them a greater chance of being good at Table tennis, or vice versa?
I felt that after playing a year of Ping Pong and no tennis, when i played tennis for the first time i was better...

An error My tennis got a lot worse once I started to play serious table tennis.
I could chop balls in tennis with more accuracy and even hit pinpoint lobs.
However, my forehand was completely devastated...
The hardest people to coach....

Plus they were super durable.

Note to the people denigrading HC tennis - Talk Tennis
There is a certain faction of people here who wish to denigrate hard court tennis. "It is less prestigious as it isn't as old" and is "just there to cut down on costs."
Well, this is silly. The USO is the 2nd most prestigious slam.
And hard courts allow...

They can be more neutral to all probably richer back then LOL).

The obvious answer is in this forum, more people are interested in mens tennis than women's tennis.
I would speculate that this is the general case amongst tennis fans but can't be sure.
Mens.
Otherwise there is no point.

Is it true that no top seeded woman tennis player could beat any male tennis player in the top 500 or 1000?

I do not think that would be true.
Certainly not the very top players but some of the women players are very powerful and fast.
I think they could take some of the men above 500 on a good day Certainly above 1000.
Hmm, to me it would depend on the surface....
