Tennis in Mazatlan: Do the locals play tennis? - Mazatlan
Any locals on the court? Is it just for silly tourists? Does anyone know of a tennis court in Mazatlan? Where is it? Is it a major attraction in Mazatlan?
Started by NoBush on Wednesday, November 03, 2004
Only a few locals seem to play tennis.
Some private clubs for well-to-do (read rich) locals have of the major hotels have tennis courts and there is a tennis club (about 5 blocks east of the Royal Villas kind of short term membership....

Can we all agree, tennis needs a change? - Talk Tennis
After two incredibly boring GS's on two extremely slow courts (Wimbledon has lost it's charm in my book, just another clay court tournament now). Can't we agree that tennis needs more variety. I've been saying for about 7 years now that if you slow the...

But the courts were faster.
Posters, in general, have short memory spans and the old complaint was that tennis tennis is on the cusp of some seriously deep issues.
Its future and validity is on the line.
Issues deep thought because ....

Note to the people denigrading HC tennis - Talk Tennis
There is a certain faction of people here who wish to denigrate hard court tennis. "It is less prestigious as it isn't as old" and is "just there to cut down on costs." Well, this is silly. The USO is the 2nd most prestigious slam. And hard courts allow...

Men's tennis vs Women's tennis

The obvious answer is in this forum, more people are interested in mens tennis than women's tennis.
I would speculate that this is the general case amongst tennis fans but can't be sure.
Mens.
Otherwise there is no point.

Is it true that no top seeded woman tennis player could beat any male tennis...
Is it true that no top seeded woman tennis player could beat any male tennis player in the top 500 or 1000?
Started by stromy on Friday, March 14, 2008
I do not think that would be true.
Certainly not the very top players but some of the women players are very powerful and fast.
I think they could take some of the men above 500 on a good day Certainly above 1000.
Hmm, to me it would depend on the surface....

Tennis scholarship- Can D-3 tennis colleges give out scholarships?
Division three colleges do not offer athletic scholarships. If you have really good grades though you can qualify for academic scholarships. Some coaches may be able to help you get those scholarships. I coach a division three college and every single player on my team has some sort of academic scholarship. Also complete your fafsa and you may qualify for financial aide. I know of some players that have received more financial aid from a division three college then they would from a D1 or D2. Playing Division 3 is great, especially if you still want to focus on your academics. Virtua Tennis. source
Is hardbat 'real' table tennis?
I don't want to get into a debate about what constitutes real table tennis but I think hard-bat, inverted, pips out and even sand-paper or liha is table tennis in my book. I have never played hard-bat or liha but I would love to given the opportunity since it is just another way to have fun with the sport I love so much. I actually have two old blades, premade that I have removed the rubbers from and have sanded them down to clean the glue and sponge residue and I intend to turn them into sandpaper rackets to try out. But if I did try and figure out if any one form was real table tennis, h . I don't know, they are all in my opinion variants that should be encouraged because they are all essential to how rich and varied this sport is. Tennis Shoes. source
Tennis shoes or Flip flops?
I will be going to WDW in less than 2 weeks and I will be 6 months pregnant. Should I wear tennis shoes and have my feet get warm and sweaty and be comfortable or walk around in flip flops and sandals, which have less support but may be the cooler option? Table Tennis. source

Wii tennis game?
I'd like to see a more in-depth tennis game on Wii where you could control character movement with the analog stick, but I think it'd be a bit problematic because of the wire between the Nunchuck and the Wii remote. Same goes for boxing too, I found the wire to be pretty annoying in Wii Sports Boxing and was constantly thinking how much better it could've been with a completely wireless setup.
