There was a thread, and I thought it was here and not on some other site, where a guy had found a Hot Wheels set with some purple tentacles that fit onto Botcon Octopunch.
I haven't been able to turn up anything in a search. Anybody know where I can find...

Something that long and massive probably piece to represent the mouth/tentacles bursting out of the ground (I'd use a wire frame for the tentacles), and then perhaps another....
And their tentacles are about 1/4 that length (6" to 12").

I'm not so sure if it's even known why sometimes a LPS coral will extend it's tentacles.
