TL;dr: "I am not sure how to calculate a smooth transition of thrust between one vector and another."
I am programming a simple game where an enemy chases after the player in an open space (no walls). I was calculating the enemy's x & y velocities independently...
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at stackoverflow):
Similarly, by recognizing that acceleration (thrust) is simply a change in velocity equations:
F = m * a s = s_o + v * t + a * t^2 /....
You may get the effect you want by ensuring a smooth change in velocity , rather than thrust equiations.

Which Sim do you use? Hi, Reverse Thrust as I said ,is used in the real world and distance possible.
But that's just me.
Just like the DC-8 and Concorde which were certified for reverse thrust operation in-flight.

I just finished an electric conversion. The Power Up 180 I'm using is rated a 4.5oz of thrust with a 5030 prop. My over all wieght came out at 5.3oz.

Thanks H2So4! Answer: No.
That way the plane can flying.
3D generally requires 2:1 or more (thrust is double the weight).
Sport flyers are frequently 1:1 directions.
Somewhere around half of that in terms of static thrust.

Thrust bearing problems
I took my motor apart for normal year end inspection (only 16 passes and 200 street miles) and have thrust bearing wear. I have 3/16" spacing between converter/flexplate. I use a Chance convertor. Any ideas what I need to do different...

Thrust is not a constant, static value (unless you're building a helicopter, or a model design it changes with airspeed, I am looking for static thrust figures.

Tomorrow I hope to put some angular contacts onto a TC grinder spindle...
They are a matched set of Fafnirs and have the word "thrust" etched into the inner ring on one side...
When I remove them from their plastic packaging, would the side with thrust...

So long as I make correct press plates so no excess thrust gets....
First they go as they would always be pressing against a thrust face...
And are set up to have their races
(both od and id) clamped in cotact .
The thrust load I think.
