The Ridge and The Mall ( Shimla ), Kufri ( Shimla ), Baspa Valley ( The beautiful valley of Kinnaur ), Sangla... .
It is not so crowded and commercialised as Shimla, yet it is close enough to mainland India .
Chail, near Shimla, could be one of your options.

Is there anyone here who is studying (or has studied) travel and tourism? Preferably in Melbourne/Victoria? I am very interested in finding a course but don't really have the money for an expensive one.
