I think the default setting....
This may be related to write caching.
So, it's copying the file, then deleting the old, then going to the next one .
Please correct if I'm wrong, but I believe this is related to a move in Windows being a Copy-then-Delete method .

The prospect of having data altered in mid-transfer is somewhat frightening anyways.
Of course, if you transfer nearly anything in ASCII mode that isn't text, it will probably recommend to always use BINARY transfer mode.

My databases where set to use SQLServer....
It was not necessary to change code.
They have slightly different names.
I had to use the SMO-dll of SQL Server 2008 .
This didn't work out of the box.
SMO hasn't really changed between version.
They should.
