I have been preparing tubs for pelargoniums and noticed big fat juicy grubs in the soil at the bottom of the tubs. I've taken them out but what are these things? If I didn't take them out would they eat plants I'd put into the tubs? Some tubs had them...

They might be vine weevil grubs - if so get rid of them fast ! They sound like vine weevil grubs - have you used old compost? They will kill your plants and spread into other pots .
What did they look like? Are they earthworms? If so, just leave them .

Would tubs not come into their own when conditions become slippery? i.e.
Tubs or tubeless clinchers are what i should use, but i'm too tight and lazy to do either, so anything about a preference does it.

This is correct Tubs size is also the rough framing freestanding tubs are designed for the valves to be mounted to the side of the tub with the waterlines.

The water must be tested on the ship just that chemicals were added, otherwise the pools... .
For those that aren't, various pool chemicals are added, just as you would with a pool or hot tub at home.
Pools and hot tubs on ships are salt water.

Well, I got my tubs trimmed and ready to install and had a hell of a time welding one in.
Let me give you guys some back round and facts;
-I have some experience welding, mostly 1/8 and 1/4" stuff, all mig.
-I'm using a Lincoln SP 125 I believe (110v)...

Here is what i have learned to do to keep from burning through as much .
Keep the metal to metal gap to a minimal, also get both the truck metal and the tub tubs i always burnthrough at places.
It's gonna warp...
