This particular model uses a USB port on the TV for power so that would be one less plug.

At that point, you're better off just buying a new TV.
I'd call some of the local TV repair places to inquire as to price to fix it, because 900 seems high.

I know before that digital conversion thing happen you could just pull up your tv as soon as you got it and watch local stations like nbc,abc,fox,wb(now cw) but since the conversion i haven't tried it with a newer tv.

Have you tried hooking the wire DIRECTLY TO THE TV and see if you then get signal.

I recently got Direct TV installed and it worked fine in 2 rooms. One room has always been perfect and never had a problem with it.
The other room with the main DVR has big problems. I'm hoping if I describe them someone will be able to give me an idea...
