Does watermelon taste like melon? I know my question probably sounds really stupid. I hate general melon-y flavours like that of cantaloupe, but I've heard of people that dislike cantaloupe liking watermelon, so I wondered if watermelon tastes like melon...

I planted Cantaloup and Watermelon. But with a small space and knowing how much space these plants take up I came up with an idea that so far is doing well.
Basically I took some steel poles and riged them with wire and have the plant growing at the base...

I think some of the smaller watermelon varieties would work.
Hope you have a strong small melons and it worked out great .
We raise 4 or 5 types each year and some of those weigh in at 40 to 50 lbs.

You might try cooking down the watermelon, although I haven't tried that so I don't know how that will affect the flavor.
Though, can be tricky since the watermelon is pretty dilute and the lemon juice is pretty intense.
