I've finally joined the 21st century and got a second monitor. I can merrily undock all the side windows (Solution Explorer, ToolBox etc) and plonk them anywhere I like on either monitor. I can't though figure out how to undock a code window. Is it possible...

You could resize Visual Studio to cover both monitors, then right-click the code window and click New Vertical Tab Group

Multi monitor is a key functionality of the new vs 2010 as was requested by a lot of devs .

Out of the box, there doesn't appear to be any built-in support for allowing your end-users to undock the ToolStrip s in your applications from their parent ToolStripPanel s. Clearly it's possible because even your Visual Studio IDE allows you to undock...

There doesn't seem like there's much around to do....
It's not really emulating Visual Studio's Toolstrip functionality so much as its floating/dockable windows, but it does handle docking and tearing like a champ .
I would look into the DockPanel suite.

Many of my co-workers and myself have a constant problem with docking and undocking our dell notebooks. Our company requires that we run a broad catalog software that starts at boot; but logically I would not think that any program should cause problems...

I'm going to say it's a windows quirk, but not go the right command though :)
That said personally, I never use hibernate, suspend or undock anymore.
Ideally the Undock command should do that.
Or not.

How do you create a custom (undocked) toolbar in Windows 7? In Vista it was as simple as dragging a folder to the top or sides of the desktop.

Yeah that was my original approach....
You can create a custom toolbar by right clicking on the task bar them going up to toolbars, then in the new menu that pops up going down to new toolbar, but I don't know it you can create an undocked toolbar.

When undocking from a Teladi SPP it seems to suffer a collision. It's escapable, just, if you have a boost extension fitted. I havent tried docking or undocking from any other stations.

I was testing something else today but over the course of the test, I noted some undocking issues.
Some M6 models are simply larger than others and when undocking under manual player control, their wings / spikes / whatever hit part of the station / carrier...

Obviously not so suitable for DiD games....
But there are also fewer problems if such a ship undocks under AI control from problematic stations even with the Player aboard so that is often worth a try first before making more complex arrangements.

I don't think windows 7 has an undock option.
I'm not sure if that is a Microsoft change (maybe it got), which replaced a T42P, which replaced an A21P.. .
I don't have the 'undock' option either.
