As it says above, if you are unemployed most insurances charge around 30% more on your insurance premium.
The insurance company is saying that there is a higher chance that you will make a claim if you lose your job. Doesn't seem right to be.

You're forgetting the third type of unemployed, significantly smaller but very undesirable or may not claim JSA but will normally declare themselves as unemployed to an insurer.
