I've designed some promo sheets for the company I'm working for and I've to send them to the printers as PDFs... But the printers would like bleed marks left on them and I can't figure out how to do it. They don't use InDesign so can't just send them ...

In the mean time, are you confusing bleed with crop marks? Bleed is not readily visible on the pdf... .
