I will apply for a six month tourist visa in UK.
It will be valid for six months, Does this mean I have six months from the date of issue to start my visit and then six months in India?

Hi,
My visa says I have to register at the FRO in case my visa is valid more than 180 days. My visa is valid for 6 months, so I assumed 6 months is 180 days and therefore the registration was not necessary. But after 3 weeks I actually counted the days...

It is clearly typed out.
When is the date your visa expires.
But i did not doLook at your visa carefully.
So technically I have to register.
And it turned out my Visa is valid for 183 days.

I am aware of emp visa etc...my company refers to emp with employment visa when reading ....
An employment visa is issued in your country, for employment with a specific employer only.
There is no such thing as a work permit.
