Fieldsets....
However, personally I find that since it renders slighly differnt in the browsers that I prefer to use a styled div, so I can be assured of the display format .
The fieldset tag is still an acceptable control to use, I use it on occasion myself .
I am familiar with C++ RTTI, and find the concept interesting. Still there exist a lot of more ways to abuse it than to use it correctly (the RTTI-switch dread comes to mind). As a developer, I found (and used) only two viable uses for it (more exactly...

I cant say I've ever found a use for in in real life but RTTI is mentioned in Effective C++ as a possible solution to multi-methods in C++ .
Acyclic Visitor (pdf) is a great use of it.
I am currently in the process of designing a database-driven website to manage various personal data and some business data. This is primarily a personal app, however it will be used by a few clients to retrieve and update information. Is Perl still a...

Any (reasonable) language you're confident with is viable.
It's no less viable than it was in the past—it's a solid and well-supported to use Perl, it would be worth looking at.
Small feature at a time.
I am wondering if it is viable to store cached items in Session variables, rather than creating a file-based caching solution? Because it is once per user, it could reduce some extra calls to the database if a user visits more than one page. But is it...

Why not just use the Cache that comes with ASP.NET (you... .
If you're using it to cache things that should be common across multiple sessions, you're duplicating a lot of data needlessly .
Session should only really be used strictly for user specific data .
Is it a viable option to switch to operating systems 1 written in some managed language (C#, Java, Managed Assembly) in the near future? Maybe not for the desktop platform, but for embedded devices and gaming consoles? What are the pros and cons of such...

In the "near future" (let's say 10 years) this will only happen if one of the major OS flavors puts a lot of weight behind the idea .
Since nobody seems to want to tackle this question, I'll take a shot at it .
In evaluating different systems integration strategies, I've come across some words of encouragement, but also some words of frustration over BizTalk Server. What are some pros and cons to using BizTalk Server (both from a developer standpoint and a business...

There are so many edge cases and weird little business logic tweaks you have to make when you are doing B2B data integration (which is probably the hardest part of any enterprise application... .
My experience with BizTalk was basically a frustrating waste of time .
Hello, I'm not sure if it is viable to use ASP.NET MVC 2 Preview 1 already in a production system? I would like to, because it introduces several much-needed functionalities which are quirky in MVC 1. Unfortunately I didn't find anything about that topic...
