There are other questions on SU regarding dual booting if you need further help .
The XP installation should have access to all hardware at all levels .
The only other solution I can think of is to set up a dual boot scenario with Windows 7 and XP .
If hardware support is a must for virtualization, how can Java Virtual Machines run on machines without support for virtualization ? Or is JVM not a virtual machine ?

It is a 'machine' that implements the Java bytecode, not a ... .
The JVM is a virtual machine, but it doesn't require any additional support from the Operating is not virtual in the same sense as a VirtualBox or VMWare virtual machine.
I have been playing with virtual machines latley, and wondered if I could run a virtual machine inside a virtual machine? Is it possible? Is it practical?

Granted it was a test/binary translation style....
I don't know why you would ever want to in practice, but it has been server running a virtual machine that has another virtual ESX server within it.
ESX/vSphere in a virtual machine.

I'm a little familiar with C++, but the virtual keyword still confuses me. What exactly does it mean? If a function is defined as virtual, is that the same as pure virtual?

"Pure virtual" means it is a virtual method with no directly-callable -- if a class has any unimplemented....
Virtual" means that the method may be overridden in subclasses, but has an directly-callable implementation in the base class.
Hi I want to create a Virtual Machine because I need to install a Windows Server OS to use the UDDI feature. I am confused with the two virtual machine available in Microsoft. What is the difference between Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and Microsoft Virtual...

It is possible to move virtual machines created with VPC to VS and vice-versa....
Virtual PC is designed for workstation use, whilst Virtual Server is typically for server with virtualization then VPC probably makes more sense.
Possible Duplicates: virtual inheritance In C++ virtual base class? Diamond inheritance (C++) What is the difference between virtual inheritance and non-virtual inheritance in C++. I'm studying for a final and cant seem to find a clear, definitive answer...

Have a look at the virtual....
Without the virtual keyword, subclasses that is not virtual will call the base class method, not the overridden specialization in the subclass.
A base class that has virtual methods can be overridden.
If I have a .vhd file, can it be used by Virtual PC 2007, VirtualBox (open source), and Windows 7's Virtual PC (the newest Virtual PC)? Can you even run Virtual PC 2007 on a .vhd file, and then shut down the virtual PC, and then run VirtualBox on that...

So it looks like it is best to use one .vhd image with one Virtual PC program..
I tried and require re-activation.
Virtualbox support vhd, then it should read/write exactly like virtual pc,so it will be ok.
I have defined an interface in c++, i.e. a class containing only pure virtual functions. I want to explicitly forbid users of the interface to delete the object through a pointer to the interface, so I declared a protected and non-virtual destructor for...

There is nothing wrong have a vtable, you could consider... .
The derived class may well want a virtual destructor.
If the destructor is virtual it makes sure that the base class destructor is also called fore doing, only a derived class can.
I am running a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor. When I run Virtual PC in Windows 7, I get the following error: Unable to start Windows Virtual PC because hardware-assisted virtualization is disabled. When running the Hardware...

Try going back into the BIOS, turn it off, and turn off the computer (don't just reboot) .
Perhaps a stupid suggestion, but have you checked if there's a Bios update where this problem might be fixed? Enabling Intel-VT requires a cold restart .
Hi, Is it possible to create a silent redirect to an external IP in IIS6? So, in our site we create a virtual directory: www.oursite.com/virtual/ We have an external app located at app.partnersite.com We want www.oursite.com/virtual/ to point to (I guess...
