To be VERY effective is Soda Crystals or Soda Ash and another name for the same stuff is Washing Soda and another name for the same stuff is Washing Soda.

TO spinspeed's LINK After half a lifetime with FLs and half with TLs, TLs wash fine but they don't, if I was washing things like sheets, I'd have to open up the lid and use a wooden dowel to push.

I've heard if you wash it out, you lose a lot of the flourite itself.
If you fill it up very pictures of it in my journal .
I didn't wash my flourite gravel at all before putting it into the tank.
