Maybe I'm off base, but after playing the new build for only a little while these are my feelings on it:
Point Blank (PB) with Shotgun should instantly kill a Hydra (non-mature)
PB Shotgun should take 3 hits to kill a whip, 2 shots if at weapons 3
LMG...

About the weapon is the default weapon for most of the game, it shouldn't be a practical weapon against all alien defensive.

If your weapons are far apart in damage, such as a 50 dps and 40 dps weapon, then you're better.
I am regen.
Playing through so far I have found dexterity bonuses to be more important then weapon damage.

I remember reading somewhere that Covenant weapons are retro-engineered Forerunner weapons. If this is the case, do you think it's possible that in Halo 4 we'll see Forerunner weapons that are similar/act the same as Covenant weapons?
