Your not Muslim, so you don't have to wear hijab, he's Muslim, so wear a veil on their head, exposing their face is okay.

If you cinch the chest belt tight and wear your PFD they most likley will not fill when filled with water.
I have breathables.
I wear em when the water is cold, I have boots that fit over the feet.
