I picked up the following from O'Reilly: Palm WebOS Javascript.
WebOS leverages your skills, of which there are several.
I'd say learn JavaScript, CSS, and HTML in a browser .

Then, depending on type of the image you could create the binary representation of this image .
If javascript engine supports canvas elements you can try to use canvas element and getImageData to fetch the pixel data from your image .

Your best bet would be to check out....
The book provides a decent overview of the MOJO platform, but it seems there are a few places where the code is either incomplete, or where the SDK has actually been changed since the book was submitted to O'Reilly .

I agree, I will throw my hat into the ring for a request for a myfitnesspal app for WebOS - There are almost 2 million WebOS devices in the US market, and it's now available on Sprint, Verizon and AT&T.
