Why are relation databases more common than object-oriented databases? If the Object Oriented Programming paradigm is so widespread, shouldn't we see lots of OODBMS? Wouldn't they perform better than the RDBMS+OR/M?

In a word Interoperability (big word on a Friday night <G> ) Most businesses have to work with legacy systems running on RDBMS .

Not very common at all, I haven't seen one in the last 3 or 4 years on 100+ screens Not gone... .
Dead pixels aren't very common.
I've not seen a dead pixel in ages! I work in a office with nearly 30 dell monitors - no one I complaining of Dead Pixels.. .
