2 Intel Macs; a brand-new MBP and a 1-year-old iMac. Both have good quality wired network connection to an Airport Extreme. I regularly copy a 25Gb+ file between them. The disks have plenty of space and the iMac was defragmented a little while ago too...

My guess would be disk, because a gbit network shouldn't ever be saturated... .
That should show you where the bottleneck is.
Make sure that time machine (or any other backup) is not active, then watch the network, cpu, and disk usage using "activity monitor" .

I am trying to install all my Perl modules from RPM (using rpmforge.net), instead of just acquiring them from CPAN.
My ultimate goal is to get Bugzilla 3.4.4 running. It requires CGI.pm 3.21 or later; the perl package on RHEL5 (5.8.8) comes with CGI.pm...

I'd be very careful....
CGI.pm is a core module, so it is usually updated when Perl is updated or with cpan shell .
There is no CGI.pm 3.2.1 - CGI.pm has one-dot version number .
If you install all software with rpm, you should install Bugzilla with it too .

I believe it's still making its way through the mirrors so check to see if the machines are using the same mirrors ... .
CentOS 5.4 was just released.
Then try the update or check-update again.
Try running:
yum clean all
To remove the cached headers, etc.

It has an APS-C sensor, not overly packed....
Just shooting primes was probably okay at one point but in today's pro market I do think if Fuji really wants a part of that action they need to make a few nice fast zooms .
I think the size that it is is fine.

Further to Mitch's recommendations I would also suggest that troubleshoot your issue by running a SQL Trace to verify that the same "Actual" not "Estimated" execution plan is being used for each call of the stored procedure .
