I need some kind logging plugin that will enable me to collect what was actually played out through winamp.

Currently, my winamp only increases the volume by 1 ou 2% each time I press the volume up key. How can I change that behaviour? I couldn't find it in the settings.

Or checkout some Winamp plug-ins that have more presets; HotKey Plugin what you want, but not within Winamp.
Winamp at it's current version 5.56, does not have a preference to set what the "step size rotate quickly up or down.

One of my big gripes about iTunes is that it is slow and eats memory. I really like the old Winamp model of lean, mean, speed machine . Is there such a program for Macs? (I only want an mp3 player with a playlist...don't need anything else really).

It's a great ncurses-based, command-line music player, available through MacPorts .
Having said that, if you want really light and you're at all into the terminal, look into cmus .
There is still a MacAmpLite available.

It started happening a few updates ago and I can't figure out if it's some setting that changed or if there's some reason it can't access the file. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?
I'd like to avoid a blanket uninstall/reinstall...

There may also be a folder called winamp....
Maybe take ownership of winamp.m3u (or the winamp directory)
In the appdata\winamp directory.
Let me know.
Go in Folder Options - File Types and make sure the .m3u files are opened by Winamp.

Visually, Winamp draws the window with these thresholds in mind.
How might Winamp plot amplitude? My guesses:
The minimum amplitude is assumed to be -6.02b dB, and the maximum amplitude is 0 dB.

Hi,
Winamp 5.622 and previous versions does not play music when open a .m3u8 file.
I see that it recognise by Winamp playlist but it wont play any music.
If I open this .3mu8 with Foobar it plays the music without problem.
Please Winamp Team fix this ...

Is the "jump to file" (hotkey: J) supposed to be really slow in Winamp 5? In Winamp 2 it displays instantly, and truncates list instantly when typing. In Winamp 5 it takes 5 seconds to show up, and another 5 seconds freezing when i start typing.

Nothing's changed in that department be such a difference with/without jtfe installed against a 2.x install since the code in winamp for the jtf dialog+ s939 and 2GB ....
The Jump to File feature is built into Winamp 2x/5x.
No difference...

If winamp had a COM api , it would of been possible have to write this as a WinAmp plugin or use WinAmpMiniMagic (the sample code for that almost made my as a WinAmp plugin, but....
PRISM can do it with iTunes , but not winamp.
