While I plan on asking at work to see if there is an official policy, I wonder in general. If you're working on a non-work application on a work computer, who owns that application? Work, or you?

The chance of there being an official company policy that work from such a policy but it costs ....
Cause to both claim all your work as their own (since it was developed with company resources) and to fire you for misuse of said resources.

Let's say I have a bunch of bugs (work items) that are all linked one work item. How can I right a work item query to fetch the list of all bugs linked to a specific work item?
I can see the list of linked bugs when I look at the specific work item but...

TFS 2010 provides.
In TFS 2008 you can't do that with a work item query.
There is no way to do this.

I need to create a macro or VS.net Addin that will insert the current date and time and user name in a field in a TFS work item.
The sample macro does not work and I cannot find any way to programaticaly access a TFS work item that is open in the IDE....

It is possible to work with the same WorkItem that is open.

It's not necessarily an unknown format, it's just one that your client doesn't support .
I think you should upgrade your SVN command line tool to latest version .

I use TortoiseSVN normally and it works fine
Whenever I try to use svn from the command line I get an
c:\code\MyProject> svn status svn: '.' is not a working copy
error even though its the same directory that I usually work with using TortoiseSVN.

For example:
TortoiseProc.exe /command:checkout /url:"< < your repository url>>" /path:"< < your working copy path>>" /closeonend....
That's because you have not given the full path to your svn instal when trying to run "svn" .
