W7 offers libraries which are a nice way of aggregating content. I can't find a way to access them as sources from within XBMC. source

XBMC only acts as a front end for tv-tuners, and at that no one has yet gotten around to connecting the front end with a windows backend like the MP TV-server or Windows MCE. However, if you are up to install linux and MythTV, I hear good things. source

I am using Windows Media Center to record shows on tv and I have been contemplating making the XBMC settop box they put together on Lifehacker. If I use the settop box on my tv, can I watch the shows that I record on my computer using Windows Media Center? source

I think if the team ever do decide to do this then all that would be able to be shared would be the actual database. I suppose a sym link would work for just the database folder and store it somewhere accessible to all the computers. source

It's fairly complicated to get a "clean" system to the point where you can install a new OS onto the Xbox. I personally prefer to use a chip, gives you more space that the original BIOS. They do require some soldering, but it's minimal. Once you do get it prepared, you can basically do everything else from FTP. source
