I just recently learned that two of the founding members of Little Feat were former players with Zappa and the Mothers Of Invention. (Lowell George and Roy Estrada) Kind of made sense when I thought about it.

I've never "gotten" Frank Zappa, and certainly not Steve Vai.
He I saw him live.
I highly recommend Zappa's autobiography/memoir.
Has since the moment I heard it.
Of contemporary music.

I've heard many tracks from Zappas massive back catalogue played on my favourite local radio station over the last 15 years (Brisbanes own public radio 4ZZZ http://www.4zzzfm.org.au/listen-online ... plug, plug ) and never knew who it was until the tracks...
